CBE-Related Fellowships

In addition to providing research assistanships to all the graduate students admitted to the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at Iowa State University, we offer numerous competitive fellowships listed here that students applying to our graduate program are automatically considered for.

M.A. Larson fellowships: The Larson fellowships provide talented new graduate students supplements to their regular research stipends of up to $5000 a year.

National Science Foundation IGERT fellowships: Graduate applicants to the CBE Department at ISU who plan to work on research projects involving bioinformatics and computational biology are eligible for NSF-IGERT fellowships. These are available only to US citizens and permanent residents.

US Department of Agriculture MGET fellowships: Graduate applicants to the CBE department at ISU who plan to work on research projects involving computational biology and novel biomaterials are eligible for USDA-MGET fellowships. These are available only to US citizens and permanent residents.

BP-Amoco fellowships: The BP-Amoco fellowships provide talented female graduate students supplements to their regular research stipends of up to $5000 a year. Only US citizens or permanent residents are eligible for these fellowships.

Biotechnology fellowships: Graduate applicants to the CBE Department at ISU who plan to work on research projects involving the broad area of biotechnology are eligible for the Biotechnology fellowships. These are available only to US citizens and permanent residents.
