Job Description
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering seeks a tenure-track faculty position in biocatalysis at the assistant, associate or full professor level. This instructor joins 19 collegial, supportive and diverse faculty. He/she will have the opportunity to directly engage in significant interdisciplinary collaborations including the National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center for Biorenewable Chemicals and the Bioeconomy Institute at ISU. Responsibilities will include training of graduate students as well as undergraduate education and service activities.
The biocatalysis search seeks candidates who are interested in the use of biological or integrated chemical and biological processing routes for conversions of biorenewable feedstocks to chemicals.

Qualifications
Required
Associate Professor: In addition to the qualifications above, candidates must have significant experience and accomplishments in his/her area of expertise, nationally recognized scholarship, experience that demonstrates the ability to support his/her research with significant external funding and experience that demonstrates a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Full Professor: In addition to the qualifications mentioned above, candidates must also have internationally recognized scholarship.
Research in the area of biocatalysis with interest in converting biorenewable molecules.
Experience in protein engineering, synthetic biology, fermentation and enzymatic conversion, and systems biology would all be relevant.
