Program Coordinator I – Fiscal Officer

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Program Coordinator I, as the department level fiscal coordinator with responsibility for the administration and management of financial operations including management and oversight of the financial health; reporting; and staff financial training and development. The Program Coordinator supports the faculty by working directly with the principal investigators, co-investigators, and other grant coordinators in the development of research proposals and the administration of awards.

The successful candidate in this position will have the ability to interpret, analyze, develop, and implement policies/procedures and possess knowledge of University policies, programs, and services. In addition, the candidate will possess organizational skill, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong computer skills.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience OR Master’s degree and related experience OR a combination of related education and experience totaling 6 years. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience which demonstrates strong leadership, management, and communication. Demonstrated financial administration experience. Experience which demonstrates knowledge of cost accounting standards. Experience monitoring grant budgets and subcontracts. Experience which demonstrates managing complex, multi-component projects.
