Dedication of BioPolymer Processing Facillity
SAVE THE DATE for the Biopolymer Processing Facility Dedication. This will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Iowa State University BioCentury Research Farm between Ames and Boone on Highway 30. The event is free and open to the public.
The Biopolymer Processing Facility is a collaboration between the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE), the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE), and industry partners (most prominently Argo Genesis Chemical, a subsidiary of Seneca Petroleum). The plant houses two main processes: 1) Turn soybean oil into a monomer, and 2) Turn that monomer into a polymer.
