Narasimhan elected to engineering institute’s College of Fellows

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering has announced the election of Balaji Narasimhan as a member of the College of Fellows. Narasimhan, associate dean for research and economic development for the College of Engineering and a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, is one of 82 new members recently elected by current fellows of the college. Nanoscale materials are the basis of Narasimhan’s research projects, which include the engineering of biomaterials as single-dose vaccines; studying bacteria that make magnetic nanoparticles; and investigating how nanoparticles aggregate.  He has been at Iowa State University since 2001. Other College of Fellows members from Iowa State include Professor Jacqueline Shanks and Professor Surya Mallapragada, both of chemical and biological engineering. To read more, click here.
