Our lab uses a combination of several different modes of microscopy (phase contrast, DIC, epifluorescence, TIRF and confocal)  to image cellular dynamics, protein dynamics and single molecules. We also use traditional cell biological assays (western blotting, ELISA, qRT-PCR, fluorometric enzyme assays) and molecular biology techniques (RNA silencing and CRISPR gene-editing). All of these techniques are used to assess mammalian cell biological function in an array of different engineered biomaterials environments (collagen, hyaluronan, alginate, gelatin and decellularized ECM).
