Parking advisory during dangerous wind chills

Ames, Iowa, will experience dangerous wind chills as low as -45 degrees Monday, Jan. 6. Under this wind chill warning, Iowa State University Department of Public Safety will allow free parking at metered spots, pay-per-stall lots, and the Memorial Union Parking Ramp Monday, Jan. 6, and Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Metered parking spots immediately east of the Nuclear Engineering Laboratory and south of Sweeney Hall, as well as the pay-per-stall parking lot near the Armory Building, are included in the ticket-free area Jan. 6 and 7. Faculty/staff parking, indicated by red and gold signs, require respective parking passes as normal.

CBE offices will be open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, as scheduled. If you’re back on or near campus, please stay warm: go outside only if it is absolutely necessary.
